Some Questions About Internet Archive

Chris asks…
How do I dowload from Internet Archive?
I used to download soundboards from internet archives (grateful dead shows), but they have nixed it. You can still download audience recordings, but I was wondering how you can get the soundboards. Many have told me it can be done, but nobody has said how….I am new to computers, so make your answer simple for a simple mind lol. Thank you in advance!!

Change “details” in the address bar to “download” and you can access the vbr mp3′s song-by-song….the lossless files are locked up, though.
A download manager like the “DownThemAll!” addon for firefox helps if you are grabbing entire shows.

Mandy asks…
Why Google don’t crawl pages archived in Internet Archive?
Why Google don’t crawl pages archived in Internet Archive, those retrievable with “Wayback Machine”?

admin answers:
This is because the Internet Archive disallows crawlers to index its pages using a file called robots.txt.
As you can see in http://web.archive.org/robots.txt , the following lines prevent all user-agents (robots) from crawling all pages under the domain web.archive.org:
User-agent: *
Disallow: /
Given the size of the archive, it’s reasonable for them to do this in order to save resources and bandwidth. But this makes the archive unsearchable using most search engines.

Richard asks…
Are there any other internet archive sites other than Google cache and Wayback?
I’m trying to find an Xanga site that was shut down in 2005/2006. I’m not sure of the exact date. The profile was made by a friend of mine, and it meant and still means a lot to me. If possible, I would really like to see it just one more time, the way it was back then. Thanks.
